How to Read the Comparison
The calculator compares hours and travel, not outcomes. Weekly therapy spreads practice over months with home carryover between sessions; an intensive concentrates the same hours into two weeks of daily visits.
Families who live farther from Cornelius often look at travel first. Ten consecutive clinic days add up differently than one visit a week, so the drive-time rows matter as much as the hours.
What the Intensive Format Includes
Daily Sessions
Typically 2 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 2 weeks, with each session building on the last.
A Combined Plan
The program brings OT, PT, speech, and photobiomodulation into one concentrated plan.
An Intake Call First
The team discusses eligibility and scheduling on a short intake call before booking.
A Transition Plan
Families leave with a progress summary and a plan: maintenance sessions, a local provider, or a home program.
Visiting the Cornelius Clinic
All intensive sessions take place at the clinic at 19901 W Catawba Ave Ste 104, Cornelius, NC 28031. Weekly sessions happen in the clinic or, for many services, by teletherapy while your child is in North Carolina.

Sources and How This Tool Works
Intensive hours = 2 hours a day × 5 weekdays × 2 weeks = 20 hours across 10 clinic days, the program's typical format. Weekly hours = sessions a week × session length. Weeks to 20 hours = 20 ÷ weekly hours, rounded up. Clinic trips = sessions a week × weeks for in-clinic weekly therapy (0 for teletherapy) and 10 for the intensive. Drive time = trips × 2 (round trip) × the one-way drive time from your town to the Cornelius clinic. One-way drive times come from OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM) between each town center and the clinic, without traffic.

General information for families, reviewed October 24, 2026. It does not diagnose, and it does not replace an evaluation by your child's own clinicians. Therapy hours are one part of a plan; the right format depends on your child's evaluation. Intensives are available for qualifying children, and eligibility is discussed on the intake call.
