Destiny B. – Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)

- Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA, COTA) – An Occupational Therapist Assistant is a regulated healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help individuals develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and meaningful activities. OTAs play a hands-on role in implementing personalized treatment plans that support independence, safety, and quality of life.
- Functional Rehabilitation & Daily Living Support – OTAs focus on practical, real-world outcomes. This includes helping clients improve mobility, coordination, cognitive function, and self-care abilities such as dressing, eating, and returning to work or school. They guide clients through therapeutic exercises and adaptive strategies tailored to their unique goals and environments.
- Collaborative, Client-Centered Care – Working closely with Occupational Therapists, families, and other healthcare providers, OTAs ensure care plans are carried out effectively and adjusted based on progress. Their role emphasizes encouragement, education, and consistency—helping clients build confidence and achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in everyday life.
